Family Reading Book List

Each year, the ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom records hundreds of attempts by individuals and groups to have books removed from libraries shelves and from classrooms. (bannedbooksweek.org/Mapofbookcensorship.html) At least 42 of the Radcliffe Publishing Course Top 100 Novels of the 20th Century (www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocacy/banned/frequentlychallenged/challengedclassics/index.cfm) have been the target of ban attempts. Visit www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocacy/banned/bannedbooksweek/ for more information on book bans and challenges.

RULE: When you're tagged, copy the list and the instructions into a new note. (Create by clicking on the "Notes" tab on your profile page.) Mark the banned books you've read. Then, tag some friends and pass it on. (Remember to tag the person who tagged you.)
